  • Vineyard 

    The vineyards are located in two areas in the region. One is Bocos de Duero, which boasts deep gravel soil. The other area is Moradillo de Roa y Pardilla, in Ribera del Duero, but at more than 900 metres above sea level. Cool breezes are typical in the area, as well as reddish soils that are marked with broken and burning gravel.



    The first grape selection process is carried out in the field, when they are collected in boxes with a maximum capacity of 17 kg.

    At Bodegas Raíz de Guzmán, two selections are carried out: one for bunches and the other for loose grapes. 

    Fermentation and fermentative maceration are carried out in trunco-conical tanks at a controlled temperature.

    Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels. Barrel ageing is 23 months, 100% French oak.


    Tasting note

    This wine reflects the gravelly land where the vineyard is located, which embraces the Duero in its slow journey; an aspect that gives the grapes used in the preparation aromas, flavour and character.

    Elegance in its aromas; it evokes memories with the smell of wet earth, minerals and mature black fruits. Splendid in the mouth with hints of fine wood and balsamic, as well as toasty hints.

    Structured and succulent flavours, which are also extensive and deep.

    • Visual phase: Rich cherry red colour, high intensity, clean and bright.
    • Olfactory phase: Powerful and elegant aromas. Evokes memories with the smell of wet earth, minerals and mature black fruits. Sweet toasty hints with coffee and honey tones.
    • Tasting phase: Splendid on the palate with a marked tannin and succulent undertones. Fine woods, balsamic and toasty flavours. Powerful and structured, extensive and with a long aftertaste or, if you prefer, deep.


    • Pairing: roasts, grilled steak, red meat and large game
    • Serve at temperature: 16 – 18ºC.
